Hoping to discover some clue to where or what the 'bleeding stone' is that a spirit told her about, Olivia joins up with the Zahn to explore the underground workshop – without Amelia around to keep them from doing anything too dangerous.

One of the items Olivia wants to investigate is the hall of bins filled with crushed Skeeks that Zahn told her about, but first Zahn shows her the factory room with its spools of woven-glass fabric. The Kadie even gives her some to study.

When they get to the room containing the bins, though, they find them all empty – except for signs that they were full at some point. This frustrates Zahn, who goes to check every bin. Olivia finds scratches inside one, made by Skeek claws, that implies they victims weren't all dead when they were packed inside.

Going down to the next as-yet-unexplored level, they come across giant looms for weaving the glass, and broken molds and injection systems for making some of the parts seen on the factory floor. Zahn is upset that the control panel for the injection machine has been torn out by trolls.

They make a brief foray onto the next lower level, but it's almost completely dark so they return to the previous one to keep exploring. The next spoke-hall is full of huge glass making machinery, along with giant spools for the glass thread. Olivia find the upper half of a Skeek skull coated in glass inside one of the crucibles, which she finds fascinating.

The next spoke is dark, and Zahn's lantern shows dozens of Skeeks frozen in place, just before he fumbles the shutter and blocks out the light. It's then that Olivia notices that her found skull is glowing.
