Envoy is taken from her cell, and placed in a conference room with a Savanite dressed in Inquisitional Robes, and a mirror. The cheetah's bodylanguage is unlike any slave's, and he places a list of seven questions in front of the exile, and indicates she is to answer them out loud. Once she has, and then starts asking her own questions, Envoy is interrupted by a garter Naga in the Savanite's headdress. The garter is in fact, Inquisitor Vassoy, and this deception with his slave is part of some mild protest demonstration to his superior. A staticy voice interupts the garter, preventing him from asking Envoy about the City of Hands, and prompting the Naga to argue for her release. The voice agrees, allowing the exile to go free with a guard for protection, then requests Vassoy's absence. Naga and Savanite leave, and the voice reveals itself to be Inquisitor Zeffel, who explains some of the Temple's reasoning for it's handling of events so far. Envoy promises her silence and is released into the night fog.
