Baddock, having recovered from his fall in the Sacred Grove, is now a prisoner of the Aelfin monks atop Sacred Mountain in Aelfhem. He is assigned to move a pile of manure over to a garden. However, he decides he'd rather get into a fight, so he tucks the shovel into his belt, and marches into a chamber which happens to be the lair of the Guardian of Seasons – Ashtoreth, the three-headed dragon. Baddock retrieves his weapons from behind the dragon, but wakes it.

Baddock retreats deeper into the chamber, only to find a second dragon … and her nest! There is some shouting from the Aelfin guard outside, which momentarily distracts the dragon. Baddock uses this distraction to rush past the dragon and back outside, only to find a fight going on that started in his absence.
