Envoy and Mircus pay another visit to Mystico the Marvelous (a Lapi Dream Mage in the Bazaar), and pay for another session with him. In this magical dream, they encounter Morpheus again, and discuss with him his nature – as well as Envoy's.

Through the course of the dream, three images of Envoy's personality "aspects" appear … in the form of "Child" (her personal needs and wants), "Probe" (her drive to accumulate knowledge), and "Robot" (her cold, rational, calculating side). Envoy expresses that she wishes to change the priorities of her aspects, so that Probe will no longer have dominance, but that Robot will call the shots instead. But, she fears this as well, not fully trusting Robot.

Mircus pieces together (with Envoy's help) that the setting of their dream might actually correspond to a physical location … namely, the planet of Morpheus, elsewhere in the solar system. Mircus – a cartographer and explorer – is naturally intrigued by such a notion.
