Fenter and Bassai return to the surface of the sky island in a bit of an accident, tied to the usage of a "floating disc" found underground. On the surface, they find themselves surrounded by a group of Rhians led by Nena, a Naga rival of Bassai's, and by the "cook", in actuality a mind mage. Ibis is with them as well. Bassai exchanges words with Nena, and it is revealed that Nena has intentions of staging the demise of Bassai and Fenter, and claiming the discoveries of the Sifras site and this sky island for herself. However, the cook speaks up, and it appears that a triple-cross is involved, for Nena has been sold out as well – The airship descending upon the sky island is NOT Nena's ship, but an Eeee warcraft bearing the symbol of the Eye of the Sabaoth. In the resulting chaos of the Eeee attack, Bassai grabs Ibis and flees with Fenter and several Vykarins by way of the floating disc underground, leaving Nena and the cook on the surface. The bats try to pursue, but Bassai's creative use of the floating disc neutralizes the threat. Once they gather their group together, they find out that the Eeee forces have been defeated – and Nena and the "cook" have been slain
