Olivia hurries from the clearing to the gypsy camp, where she's met first by Liliana. The Skeek explains that Djivan's been captured, and that his father is trying to get her too to pressure him with. Lili searches Djivan's wagon for clues while Olivia goes on to get Natasha.

The trio head for the Mint Dam next, hoping to find Amelia, which they do (much to Zahn's disappointment). Natasha begins to prepare some spells, while Olivia answers Amy's questions about Djivan's father and so forth. Lili admits that Djivan's father is actually a brigand with his own band of thieves, much to Olivia's surprise – although it makes sense to Amelia.

Olivia's second surprise comes when Amy agrees to her plan to let herself be captured so that Nene and Bebe could track her back to the brigand camp.

After getting everyone together, Olivia heads for the clearing to be captured. Alberic, Djivan's father, explains why he needs Djivan: to marry some romance-addled spinster in his place. After everything is nice and legal, he plans to kill them both and inherit everything.

Olivia is brought to where Djivan is being held in a tent, but it isn't too long before the otters begin their 'attack' on the camp. An incredibly potent stinkbomb that forces them to start to move camp, along with a lot of smoke.

Gunther's crossbow makes them think they're being invaded, while Amy sneaks around and knocks out Olivia and Djivan's guard. Once the smoke clears, Natasha faces off against Alberic and when he laughs off her threat, she turns him into a frog princess.
