Arch-Inquisitrix Esther yodh Rahab leads a task force of three airships in a surprise assault on Tarsus Sky Island, where the real Captain-Astromancer, Tahir Archelaus, is being secretly held prisoner. Esther's forces storm the tower and overpower the defenders, and Tahir is recovered – unconscious, but alive. With Tahir rescued, Esther returns to Rephidim to set things straight in the Temple.
