Zephyr and Envoy leave from Alisyn's Auction House to follow up a lead that the scholar Aski Medes may have purchased Jarik. The pair catch up on things as they go to the Temple to pick up Wyn. Envoy shares some Temple Scout Cookies as the group prepares to rescue Jarik, and after a brief scuffle and some apologies, find out that Jarik isn't a slave at all, and is helping Aski out with his studies. Talk turns to the tribulations of the two foxes and their problems with the temple, which continues over dinner at the Monkey's Head Tavern.
