As requested, Morgan arrives at dawn to Qing's cabin, bringing with him a mostly-complete work contract for his services. Qing is already using little spirits to clean up after his morning ritual, and the two go over the contract. For payment, Morgan asks for tutelage, as appropriate, and Qing agrees so long as he determines what is to be taught.

Morgan describes the town and some of the people, such as who might be helpful to Qing and who to avoid, as they head for the Inn to get breakfast.
