Worried about her sudden loss of teeth, Umeko takes Xander with her to visit the ship's doctor, Shirvinj. The prognosis is that the golden reptile appears to be growing poisonous fangs, a peculiar event to occur out of the blue. Umeko and Xander try to deflect Shirvinj's mounting suspicion about the Temple of Being, and promise to report in regularly for Umeko's checkup.
