Rory is tested again at his magical abilities, this time assigned to cast and hold a spell of Concealment, then take it across the campus to hide a purple cylinder from five non-mages who will enter the chamber and examine it. Rory rushes across the campus, avoiding a prank set up by some earth mages, and making much ado about nothing when he reaches a bridge crossing a lake – and riding the back of a water Naga in order to get across, fearing he might get soaked by some geysers … and getting far more soaked from his attempt to bypass it! At last, soaking wet, Rory makes it to the chamber and casts his spell, and somewhat anti-climactically passes the test.
