Alptraum goes to check on Kaira after her … egg-laying incident! What he uncovers is a very drunk (and slightly scary) dragon. It requires several attempts at prodding and poking her before her mental faculties return to a semblance of normal.

Once he manages to sober up the dragon, he discusses the situation around Melusine and how the Shadow-Dragon seemingly is able to influence the bat at some level … which scares Alptraum. He also tells her about Melusine's shaping offer … and concerns that refusal could be bad too. They agree that Melusine will shape him at some point, but they need to pick something safe

The picnic ends with Alptraum shape-shifting one of the elves at the party, creating a medusa-like monster from a supple dark elf. Amusingly, the elf likes it and actually asks to be made more monstrous…
