Envoy is put before a panel of mages in Caroban, who have convened to decide whether to force exorcism upon Envoy. Dean Viscoi is annoyed at the whole necessity of the panel, finding the idea absurd that anyone is negotiating with a possessing spirit. Nonetheless, Dean Walker agrees to allow Acting Dean Yffryn and Mage Mystico to enact a dream ritual to see if, in fact, Dragon is able to maintain control of Envoy's body, with the possessing spirit of Inala in the background. Yffryn comes back to report the affirmative, and the board decides at last to allow Envoy to remain as-is, so long as she observes the laws of Caroban – and whatever nation she may visit – and does not abuse her powers – natural or otherwise.
