While Icarus and Violette attend a movie, Walter and Envoy go about replacing the Aeolun's ruined librarian outfit – or rather, Envoy does, as Walter escapes the shopping experience to get other supplies.

Suitably dressed as a local, Envoy goes to Our Lady of Forgiveness, a high-tech children's hospital that she suspects was founded by Elsa Daedalus. After dropping that name to the secretary, she's allowed to see Dr. Alice Demara, the current administrator (and who resembles Elsa Daedalus).

After assuring Demara that she isn't one of Von Bronson's creatures and explains that the mad doctor has recreated Elsa's work, she's sent to meet Dr. Daedalus, who is still alive after nearly a century.
