Jynx awakens to find himself the object of a Tiger-Khatta's unwanted attentions, and, when he rejects her, she throws a violent tantrum. Jynx manages to escape, fleeing the Titanian complex entirely, and then setting off across the dreary landscape. He is picked up at some point (which is not entirely clear) by a Cervani wagoneer, and taken to an inn, where even in these outlying parts, First Ones' Day is given its due
