Olivia reads through Orifice's first journal, which details his discovery of the troll warren and his observations on their behavior, as well as how he was able to get a blood sample.

It also lists his 'recipe' for creating a homunculus using the blood.

Olivia can't make sense of all of the jargon or symbols, but Igor shows up and is able to explain some of it. He also shows her that someone cleanly removed Orifice's brain (and that if the holes were plugged up, his head could be used as a cookie jar).

The two agree not to mention any of this to Dr. Pike.
