Bassai and Fenter are conveyed to the Imperial Palace in Imperial City (also known as Nagai City) by means of a selona rickshaw, running over several pedestrians along the way. At the palace, Bassai is allowed the honor of slithering over several underlings … but as the Emperor-Potentate arrives (a very LARGE Naga), he in turn slithers over all present, on the way to his "living throne". Bassai is personally honored by the Emperor-Potentate, and asked to tell of his accomplishments. Bassai's request that the new sky island he discovered be named Fetiss is granted, as is the naming of the "cone" under the island after the Magenta Lancer, Thorn. That is not all, however, as the Emperor-Potentate offers Bassai a boon. After carefully weighing the options, Bassai asks for a rather significant boon indeed: He requests that Savanites be raised from a slave-race social status, to being equal with the Jingai (Shigai, Rokugai, Nigai and Kirigai – Non-Naga reptiloids) in the Nagai Empire. This produces various degrees of shock and dismay from those present. Bassai then receives a personal honor in the form of being solitarily slithered over by the Emperor-Potentate … an honor that ends up putting him in a body cast.
