In the country of Sylvania – no longer recognized officially by Rephidim – a foppish fox bard delivers news of the world outside to the Savanites that have relocated to the once ruined town in the county of Blackshire that has been renamed "Kurai" in honor of their benefactors: Feli "Jynx" Kurai and his sister, Eve Kurai.

The fop fox reveals that Rephidim has ceased recognizing Sylvania and has pretty much given its blessing to Gallis' conquest of the land, yet he encourages his audience that Jynx can fight off any enemies. He also sings a bit about the lands of Kroz, and the curious engagement between Prince Sebazhan Dack and Willow the Wisp.

At last, Jynx – disguised as a cheetah – invites the fox out under the pretense of getting food, and then reveals his true identity. He asks the fox to please let the Savanites in the City of Hands know that they are welcome to come to Sylvania to escape the Nagai.
