In the Bazaar, Francisco is searching for components for a magical project. He runs into Envoy and Mircus. Envoy questions Madame Xanadu, who seems to be the same Madame Xanadu she knew in another universe … but the old fortune-telling Korv seems not to recognize the Exile. A magician by the name of Mystico the Marvelous offers a free demonstration of his powers to Mircus and Envoy. They take him up on it, entering into a dream spell – and there they meet an entity that identifies himself as Morpheus … an "artificial construct" such as Envoy. This greatly interests Envoy, and she wishes to learn more, but the dream spell is cut short before too much more can be said.
