After Parsley leaves early to do her milk-maid rounds, Zahn gets some food and carefully wakes up Amelia. They talk about their relationship and how Amy got tested for magic (but Zahn is asked not to mention that to anyone yet) when they hear a strange noise.

Look out of the cabin, Zahn becomes enraged when he realizes the sound is coming from his experimental motor. Everyone runs to the dam to see what's going on, only to find a crowd of otters watching Gunther zip around the reservoir on a homemade hovercraft.

It's only a matter of time before the otters try to hop onto it though, and despite Gunther's best efforts it gets weighted down and he has to land it. Zahn yells about the engine probably being ruined, until Gunther notes the improvements he made to get around the heating issues.

Amy leaves the two brothers to clean up the mess while she goes to get dressed.
