After spending the night at the Gnarly Tree, Axel and Kalvin have a breakfast of milk and muffins, and Axel begins talking about how strange it is to be solid. It also comes out that he isn't sure what's happening to his body.

Kalvin leads him back into town, and they pick up the lapi's flock from the shearing pen and bring it out to pasture. Kalvin points out the castle is home to the 'crazy bat lady doctor' who knows about monsters, and might be able to tell Axel what's going on.

Seeing Dr. Pike out flying, Axel goes and introduces himself and quickly explains his problem about being possessed. The Eeee researcher agrees to examine Axel to see if there's anything she can tell him.
