Zahn moves the lunch with Parsley outside on the notion that it was too warm in the workshop, though really because he hopes being out in public will keep Parsley a little more restrained. Instead, Parsley reveals that this is the spot where people (otters, mostly) spy on Zahn while he's chopping wood.

Zahnrad shows Parsley the map of the sewer system, asking her if she sees a pattern or reason for the way the pipes twist and turn. The Lapi notes that the map doesn't give enough information – she'd need to see the original survey map that had depth markings and such.

After lunch, Zahn suggests visiting Clover, and pauses to collect some mint leaves for her as well. They sneak into the castle through the back door, so that Olivia, Amelia and Gunther don't know he's there. Clover is surprised to see him, and suddenly very bashful. She's also wearing a wig that doesn't fit very well.

Zahn calms her down, and assures her that she's still pretty. When asked why he saved her, he can just say that Parsley asked him and Amy to try, and that was enough. Even though Clover was never nice to him, he didn't want her to be hurt.

The Lapi gives Zahn a hug, startling him. He notes that he's worried Amelia will kill him if he actually did anything with the girls, and that he doesn't know what to do anyway (although they offer to teach him, of course). Parsley suggests he just ask Amelia, and the two bunnies get him pinned down enough to clean out his ears. The procedure is relaxing enough that Zahn falls asleep.
