At an unnamed tavern in the Bazaar area at night, Jynx leads Bassai to his "guide" – the inebriated Rath'ani, Fenter. Fenter somehow recovers enough, however, to lead Jynx and Bassai out to a meeting with Wyckyd, the latter arranging for an escort through Darkside to the Moz Ezley Home for the Spiritually Disturbed. There, parting ways with Wyckyd, they spend some time struggling over how to enter, at last making it in through a window accessible by a conveniently-placed tree branch. Inside, Bassai gets an original painting from Kame Ikata in response to his queries, Fenter gets sat upon by a Jupani, and Jynx gets pestered by a crazy Kattha named "Feep". Bassai and Tekki (his Savanite slave) exit through the window as a guard comes to investigate all the noise, while Jynx and Fenter end up exiting … by the front door
