The first, and oldest, door that Kadin brings Qing and Olivia to within Valicross' bizarre spirit-prison leads not to a cell, but to the simulation of a town. Only two real spirits occupy it, while the rest are just for show: a Skreek and her daughter.

While visiting on the pretext of looking for 'Doctor Demetri', Qing and Olivia discover that this was the home of 'Demetri Valicross', and the spirits were his wife and daughter. The two are unaware of their condition, and are locked into a perpetual wait for Valicross to return home.

Qing ushers the others outside and begins to dissipate the memory. The next cell they are brought to contains the spirit of a witch that Morgan recognizes as having gone missing ten years before. She gives him a message for her village, and then lets Qing put her to rest.
