On the beach of Gateway Island on the planet of Ashtoreth, Arkold seeks solitude after the "incident" with the Siren. He spies a mermaid – a "Mariner" – and draws his weapon, supposing her to be an enemy. A check at his enemy identification pamphlet shows him that, no, this is the friendly type, and he's almost disappointed. After scaring the mercat off, Arkold goes off to indulge in some "recreational powders" … and gets drenched by a splash from the mischievous mermaid.
