Zoltan and Bambridge spare Faraon from the indignity of having a drink spilled on him by a falling cheetah. Faraon takes an interest in finding out why Zoltan is so set on obtaining Star (aka "Moon-Brow"). Faraon decides to hold a contest to see which gardener is better – Haji or Star. This involves raising two amazingly fast-growing (and violent) plants. Star "wins" the contest, though Faraon confides with Bambridge that Haji's method would, in the long run, result in a more vigorous and interesting creation. Zoltan wins "Star", while Bambridge consults with Faraon about a certain job he has in store.
