The staff of The Blushed Pala have been tending to Umeko after the battle with the mercenaries, and have done their best to cover up the woman's various bruises so that they don't show.

Lilac finds her way back to the House of Comfort, and is taken to Umeko. The human doesn't believe the tale she's told of her turning into a monster and entering the fight since it's just too crazy (and she's had experience before with Umeko's oddly deadpan sense of humor).

Lilac tells of what she say and overheard (although, since it was in Imperial all she can say is that Hakuu mentioned Umeko's name while talking to the Cervani).
