Seeking to explore the relationship between Light and Fire magic, Samael bring Apprentice Xander to the lighthouse, which has a powerful enchanted crystal that can be used as a controllable source of light.

While Xander prepares a fire arrow, Mage Kessler gathers his own energies into a Light spell of control. The targets are to be paper gooshurm props from last year's play – which, as a fox, Sam is eager to burn.

It takes a little time to get the beam of the lighthouse under control, and Sam has Xander use his fire bolt on one of the stand-ups as a control, and the lapi happily sets one on fire. It takes some fiddling with the magic lens, but Sam gets things burning as well, although not in the way he expected to.
