Perplexed, First Technician discusses with the crew her state and what will become of her. Layth renames her Fallen Star and tells her she is forgiven, while Tasha is less willing to offer the same, even if she is otherwise friendly. Plans are initiated to integrate Fallen Star's ghost with Bellerophon's systems while Tasha expresses she has more to do within the chamber, as well.
After a brief discussion with her fellows in an effort to try and get a grasp on her feelings, Tasha asks she be left alone to face her inner self and seek what she cannot find in the waking world. As she falls in to the trace of meditation, she is confronted by a hooded figure who reviews and tests her thoughts, even as it offers the macabre knowledge that Tasha seeks: the knowledge of dying, that she might better understand Nora's death and her own fear. In the end, Tasha comes to understand her reasoning and the reasoning of Nora better, but still chooses to face dying that she might not cower before her dread. The experience is dreadful, jarring, and will undoubtedly haunt the woman for many years yet. There is a silver lining, though: in death Tasha sees the value of life she had overlooked.
