Kia, Envoy and Whonkahonk find their way into a museum, where they discover a model of not only the city but the Sifran crystal network located beneath it – and a likely route to get down to the crystal that is the object of Envoy's quest.

They also visit a library, where they learn more about what the ancient Moltpaans supposed was the purpose of the mysterious "Observer" crystal and the surrounding "Rose Shield." However, they cut their visit short when they start seeing things that aren't really there, and head out with one of the volumes to do some reading in a safer locale.
