Icarus feels much stronger after a good sleep, waking up late in the morning. Breakfast is hardtack porridge, which has the same effect on Icarus as the solid biscuit did.
Once he's recovered and out of the bathroom, Envoy takes him outside as she posts a shopping list of items she needs to the base's maildrop. Once she gets the boy back inside the hangar, she starts showing him some magic, asking him to pay close attention to what he sees with his energy senses.
Envoy uses the crystals to aid her in casting a Gravity ritual on one of the big empty storage crates left in the hangar, getting it to flow in the air, and asking Icarus what he sees.
Icarus can see the lines of force, and how the spell is breaking or rerouting them, and is able to interact with the ritual as well, which shows Envoy a new way to alter it and make things move around. She has Icarus try next, teaching some ways to better harmonize with the forces involved. He does well, but accidentally crushes the crate into a small ball of metal.
