Kaela is angry about Jezebel's actions, and confers with Icelight about what might be done. Icelight offers Kaela a story about the Emerald-Eyes of long ago, to make a point about the leader that the Twelve-Times-Twelve expect. Kaela at last decides that she will continue her candidacy, to make sure Jezebel does not have a chance at becoming the new leader by default … and agrees to return to Rephidim in order to help others who remain slaves
