In the Kerebos bath house, Layth massages Lucia's wounded leg and learns that the warrior doe received it on a ritual Zaki hunt such injuries (and the need for multiple attempts) being common, according to the other two warriors.
Layth is asked about his own background a bit, feeling a little nervous at the attention, and talks about how different life is in the mountains. Lucia also explains why she came down to the lowlands to start a new life.
The concept of a 'bodyguard' is talked about, and how it differs from the Amazonian concept of a 'Guardian' the key different being, in the mind of one of the warriors, that bodyguards don't need to feel love for the ones they protect, while Guardians do.
