Willow, accompanied by Burr, Testament-Blaze and the "Huntsman" (who seems suspiciously a lot like Prince Ral Diamante), travels to Snicjer Hill, where she was attacked by the strange monsters. There, they fight off some of the creatures, and return to the Skreek statue that Willow had discovered before. With a bit of excavation, they uncover a passage that leads down into a cavern chamber, and they go exploring.

Underground, they fight off some "bone-birds" (grooks), and then Willow gets them past some traps. They at last find the underground city of Vrixt … capitol of the Western Kingdom of Moltpaa, named after its ruler, King Vrixt – a Skreek. In the audience hall of the palace in the city, Willow finds the mortal remains of King Vrixt … and has a vision of the king in life. King Vrixt's ghost tells Willow of the history of Moltpaa's fall to King Kroz – an overlord of Bosch – and the origins of the Princes of Kroz. Willow agrees to honor the memories of Moltpaa, and King Kroz agrees to order his "subjects" to rest … so that "snicjers" will no longer attack people in the borders of the Western Kingdom.

Willow also has a vision of Nene Diamante, the ghost of Ral's sister. Nene asks Willow to pass something along for her – a hug – but Willow hasn't the heart to do so. Still, she tells the Huntsman about her vision … and takes the signet ring of King Vrixt to give to his distant descendant.
