Piper is at the Hostelry, trying to train a creen to speak Kassie's name. He is paid a visit by April (the innkeeper's daughter), who brings with her a Temple Inspector by the name of Faith. Faith asks some questions about Torn-Ear … and Piper suffers a blackout spell. He recovers, though, and Faith admonishes him to share with her any information he might receive on the situation with Torn-Ear and Kassie. Piper then returns to trying to train the creen.
