Waking up in a different life, Olivia experiences memories from the ghost Skeek possessing her; Jesti Wrathbone, married to Igor Wrathbone and living in the underground apartment grotto!

She sees the unveiling of the Guardian; the first of the modified trolls that was apparently created to defend critical areas against other trolls, while being controlled by something called the Master Control System. The Committee that seems to be in charge approves testing.

Flashing forward several months, after Jesti has given birth (from an arranged pregnancy), she's urging Igor to take the children to the surface and hide all of the access points to the underground station – because the M.C.S. has taken over and she's been chosen to be an Operator, so the Guardians will be coming to get her soon.

Igor takes the children reluctantly, and then Olivia/Jesti is being escorted down a long tunnel to a glass tube with ominous look barbed wires hanging from the top. She steps in, and is drowned in a red glowing liquid.
