After recovering her various belongings, preparing some spells and saying goodbye to Icarus, Envoy heads back to the fire-base to prepare for Born-In-War and Icarus' later arrival.

When she gets there, she finds that Inala has already let herself in to visit, and worn out Walter in the meantime. Envoy is especially suspicious – and conflicted – when the goddess offers her a vial that she claims will help Envoy in her quest.
