Zoltan visits Golgotha, base of the Knights Templar in Rephidim, bringing with him the armor of the Champion of Shadows. He tells them of what he learned of the Knights on Abaddon, and requests that he be considered to enter training to someday fill the role of the Champion of Shadows here on Sinai.

Zoltan is asked a couple of tough questions by a monk, concerning his loyalties, and reminding him that – under the authority of the Order of the Bounded Star and Anchor, and serving the Temple – he might be forced into conflict with those who are currently his friends and allies. Zoltan reaffirms his convictions to the satisfaction of the monk.

The monk then brings up that someone is needed to sponsor Zoltan's petition for inclusion into the Order. At first, the Champion of Roses and the Champion of Sound respond. But then, one after another, the other Champions and Lancers vote their support. The Champion of Amber even somehow manages to vote in absentia.

Thus, Zoltan is paid a great honor … but if he is truly to become a Knight Templar, he will sacrifice much – his personal freedoms, and his individual identity and titles. Despite that, Zoltan's heart is light, greatly moved by the display of support from the Knights, as he heads home.
