Wanting to increase security around the Weaver's safe now that the otters know about her 'dowry', Olivia searches for Gunther Kettenrad up at the dam. The search brings her to a suspicious looking tail that she pokes, which triggers a trap door. She finds herself on a pile of pillows inside a wooden cage.

When Gunther arrives, she asks him about doing the work, and he counters with two things Olivia needs to do for him: first, help him catch Nene Oggton so he can date her, and second to spy on the Khatta 'Invaders' and report to him.

Olivia explains all about why Lady Inaya is in Stonebarrow, and how she wants to speak to the people involved in bringing down the necromancer – including Gunther. The skeek also explains that Inaya is not to know anything at all about Natasha if possible, and that they should meet with Amy and Zahn to work out their stories.

When asked why Gunther can't go spying for himself, he explains that he needs to expand his group of minions.
