Envoy rides along with Arkold, Maza and Raneah on a Nautilus "clam-ship" dubbed the Ikara's Wings, in search of the downed ship Sutaranakh. Near the site, they are attacked by a gargantuan sea serpent known as a Nessian, and narrowly escape being crushed when Arkold fires torpedos into the creature's maw. As they descend, approaching the apparent site of the Sutaranakh, Envoy finds that the Sifran crystal crown given to her by Morpheus is becoming active, and she is mesmerized by the patterns playing across its surface. She finally snaps out of it, after having a strange vision, and translates the vision into a safe path to travel to the downed ship, plotting a course that somehow spares them from the crushing pressure of the depths.

Once inside the Sutaranakh's hangar bay, they disembark and go through a door into a network of tunnels, finding a surprisingly fresh corpse lying on the floor, and evidence that systems are still operating here. Arkold heads down one passage on his own, leaving Envoy behind, and encounters some misshapen mutants – A bulkhead door slams down as he opens fire on the monsters, separating himself and Raneah from Envoy and Maza.
