Out in the desert, Envoy tries teaching Icarus a new way to fly that will be more fun. Instead of being inside of a gravity bubble, she has him wrap toroidal fields around his body and limbs so he can actually feel the acceleration and wind.

They play in the air, and when Icarus asks if it's safe to show this to his Silent Ones relatives, Envoy explains that it would be okay out here in isolation, but it would need to be kept secret while on Abaddon. She also says that it won't be much of a problem on Sinai, where everyone is used to seeing fantastic beings and magic, and he wouldn't be coveted as a potential weapon.
