Despite the early hour, Natasha is awake and reading (with light provided by draconian familiar) when Amy and Zahn show up. Amelia gives Natasha a brief synopses of the trouble with Clover, and asks if she can help with a similar ritual to the one she did for Bravil.

After grilling Zahn about his relationship with Clover (which isn't very good), Natasha says it will be better to have Parsley along, since she can more easily bind Zahn to her, and then bind Parsley to Clover.

The Kadies leave to go find Parsley, waiting for her at the Inn since she delivers fresh milk there every morning. When she shows up, Amy explains things to her and the Lapi hugs Zahn and agrees to do whatever it takes to help her twin.
