Envoy encounters Maza, who is on her way out, laden with treasure, to take off with Arkold and Raneah in the repaired clam-ship, while Envoy is staying behind to learn more of the Sutaranakh. They talk a bit, discussing future plans, then part ways.

Later, Sutaranakh makes arrangements with a Nessian to ferry Envoy off of the ship back to the surface. On the way to the cargo bay, however, Envoy is accosted by one of the ship's Nagai, who sees Envoy as a threat to his power. Envoy manages to successfully defend herself, more or less, though she loses consciousness, and later finds herself aboard the container, being sent off of the ship. She communicates with the Nessian bearing her to the surface and learns that there was some haste involved in getting her off the ship, hinting at problems back on board the Sutaranakh. When the cargo pod surfaces, a Kampfzengruppe destroyer sights the Nessian and opens fire. The Nessian leaves, and Envoy gets out of the pod, "rescued" by a seaskipper patrol.

Back in Marinopolis, home of the Abyssinian Mariners, Envoy speaks with Grandmother Atalanea about her adventures, and the possibility of peace between the Abyssinians and the Nessians and Sirens.
