While Layth and Zerachiel recover the computer memory of the Orpheus and some reactor fuel, Tasha and Gabriel work to connect external power to Bellerophon so it can be opened up.
Once they all regroup, Gabriel gets the rear cargo bay open and they get their first look at the inside of the ship. Bellerophon is bigger than the Fenris was, but is more bare. It lacks a Titan or the support machines, and all but one bed has been removed from the medical bay along with all of the medicines. One of the two reactors is missing critical components, and the ship has a bare, unfinished look to its interior.
Tasha suggests drawing power from the Sifran artifacts somehow, but nobody can see how to do it. Gabriel gets the bridge opened, and restores some power to the controls. Each station is made for a different species though, the command console being configured for a human, navigation for a Naga and engineering for a Silent One. It takes some time, but with Tasha at the engineering console they get most of the systems up and get an idea of the ship's condition, as well as preparing to cold-start the remaining reactor.
Layth and Zerachiel return to the rear bay to start the reactor, which involves carefully loading 'marbles' of fuel into it before filling the main fuel reserve. All goes well, and the fusion reactor starts up and provides power to the ship.
Moving to the lower deck to try and activate MOTHER, there is some concern since there is no way to actually turn MOTHER off from the outside. Tasha thinks back to the last time she stood in this position, as she tries to get the door opened. When it finally does, there's a rush of air as the pressure inside was low, and a dead Silent One is blown back out into the Vartan!
