At the triadic AI's request, and with the Captain's approval, Layth proceeds in to Silent Town to secure a link between it and the rest of the ancient carrier's network. Except for an escaping spool of optical cable, the process proves straightforward giving the man some time to talk before his next assignment: collecting Doombeak eggs. To facilitate this, Layth proceeds to the Silent One Titan hangar where he experiments with both the small, and the large, Titans. While he decides the large one, named 'Reaper,' should be recovered, he ultimately chooses a smaller unit for the egg harvest. While the Doombeaks try and flap up a scare, the suit proves more intimidating. Layth is able to acquire two eggs and escape with his life before the giant adult birds return.
