Thanks to Tasha's intervention at the Temple of Abaddon, the format for the duel between the twins is grappling, where the winner is the one who can still stand at the end. The fight is still brutal, but non-fatal: Alcyone triumphs, but sustains injuries. Merope will be removed from the warrior ranks, but as a result will be allowed to have children.

After the duel, Tasha announces her plans to go visit the Temple again, which both Layth and Aaron object to at first. This results in a shouting match of sorts, and the others grudgingly let Tasha go.

At the Temple, Tasha interviews with the High Priestess, Nitsa, and learns a bit more about the God of War and how she might serve. A feather and her whip are taken by the priestess to be used in a divination ritual to try and find out what destiny Tasha may have.
