After falling asleep, Envoy finds herself in a floating city created by Morpheus, and is reunited with her friend. She tells him everything that's happened and what she's learned, especially about Thirteen.

Morpheus uses Envoy's memory to focus in on Thirteen's dreams, and she finds herself in a simulated world with a Silent Ones-Human hybrid boy who is frustrated that everything happens the same every day. He's shocked to see Envoy, who eventually wins him over by telling him about what he is and what waits outside, if he chooses to 'wake up' and enter the real world.

He finally seems to cheer up, and just then Envoy is torn away to another place entirely, where Barada, the Babelite Goddess of Secrets, shows up and asks her about the gravity disturbance she felt on Abaddon. Envoy tries to attribute it to a ghost, and downplays that it's from a failed system and suggests the Leviathan will be much better.

She's also told that Inala wants to give her a gift, which Envoy immediately feels worried about.

When she finally gets away from Barada, Morpheus has extracted Thirteen (now named Icarus by Envoy) from this dream-world so they could chat. They discuss the potential problems that face the boy, but everyone agrees it will be far better for him to wake up and experience life.
