At Snowshoe's Tavern, Anisa babysits little Petal – her neice – and is paid a visit by Tyson. She learns that he's been involved in fights for money in Darkside, and he's so secretive about it, because he knows Mom and Pop wouldn't approve. He hints at other problems as well, but Anisa gives up on prying too far. She is then paid a visit by a Naga Dream Mage by the name of Shift … who reveals that this is just a dream, not reality.

Anisa's perspective shifts again, and she finds herself back in Barada's city, in a meditation chamber. Shift explains his presence, and Anisa decides that it might be a good idea to tag along with him, since he seems to know more about what is going on here than she does.
