Leftennant Varick arrives at Einheimische Keep #1 with a scroll for Gergesene. The message turns out to be from Ruthven, who says he will contact the knight soon in the future. Jael agrees to be Fadyr's squire, and change his name to Devon Rainscroft, to hide from those who would harm him. Steinhardt reveals that Sir Hehner sent him to move Mage Talia from the Gaol to the basement of the keep. She is not allowed visitors, but the knight allows her location to be known so that her son may visit with her. Gergesene and Jonas then go to see Sir Hehner, and after the bear explains his origins, Sir Hehner gives him permission to remain at the keep. The Boschian blade, and talisman are traded to Sir Hehner, for an untainted weapon that the highlander can use
