Early in the morning, the group meets with the mysterious boatman, Charo. They head off across the swamp, unable to see much due to the heavy mist that surrounds the boat, and entertain themselves with stories and music.

After picking the spirit of a Khatta mercenary, the stop midway through the swamp at a small island to set up camp.
